Flask - Deer

a hunters compannion

“Flask – Deer” is another present a former teacher got from me. Fittingly he was one of the art teachers I had during my time in school. Not only was he helping me a lot with writing my VWA (a scholarly work I needed to do to finish school) about the value of sculptures he also helped me find my own definition of art. Seeing what I can do and having some spare basswood laying around he gave that to me. For all these good reasons I wanted to give something back and there isn’t anything more obvious than that for a man who also hunts passionately.
The turned wooden shell and the raw round inlay was made by my mother who is a wood turner in her free time. We make projects together whenever one qualifies for that. I am looking forward to making many more of these quite time-consuming little cooperations.
