“Florian Pen” was more or less a sculpture I did as ordered by my mother. She had wished for a figure to showcase her self-turned pens. Thinking about that Holy St. Florian came to mind and his attributes, the burning house, the water bucket and the lance and banner were displaced with a book, a ink bottle and an empty hand, so my mother can put her pens there.
Making statues of saints or crip figures isn’t really something I enjoy doing. It is mainly because of the motive, as I am not a religious person. In this example I took something and gave a new twist to it which made me like the project.
I hope nobody feels insulted, I am not a heretic and fully respect everyone’s believes.
